Simrad has just dropped the price of all their NSS touch screen units. In addition to that there are also mail in rebates on them from Simrad in the range of $150-200 depending on the model which are on until April 6th 2014.
If you haven’t had a chance to take a look at these units you owe it to yourself to check them out. Many people don’t know that Navico who owns Lowrance also own Simrad so all the features like Broadband Sounder, StructureScan, SonicHub, etc are available on the Simrad units. The autopilot integration on the Simrad is second to none so for serious trollers these units are the ones to look at. My favorite feature of the NSS units is the roto knob on the keypad which lets you move through the menu and make selections extremely quick if you choose not to use the touch screen.
Bring all your questions to the experts from Lowrance and Simrad to get the answers on these marine systems. We will have informal small group seminars running throughout the day from 10am-1pm at Radioworld 4335 Steeles Ave W in Toronto. If you have already bought a unit and are interested in learning how to use it, or if you are in the market this is the day you won’t want to miss.
The month of January in Toronto marks an exciting time for boaters and on the water enthusiasts as the week long Toronto International Boat Show takes place between January 14th and 22nd 2012. This year Radioworld will be leaving a big footprint on the show as we will be there with our biggest booth yet full of electronics and boating accessories!
You’ll find some of the best deals we have ever been able to offer on marine electronics. We will have our expert staff on hand to answer all your questions and help you select the right electronics for your boat.
Be sure to check out some of the seminars on NMEA2000 presented by Ken Harrison of Maretron and Robin Martel of Actisense to learn more about this awesome technology that makes boating even more enjoyable.
Earlier in the year we worked closely with Scott Walcott from West Lake Willows resort in Picton, ON as he was outfitting his boat with electronics. Scott operates a charter boat service focusing on walleye in the Bay of Quinte and eastern Lake Ontario. We assisted him in the selection of marine electronics for his new boat he was taking delivery of in the fall.
Take a look at this video Scott made doing a quick walk through of his electronics setup.
As you can see this boat is loaded with the latest in marine electronics technology. If you are interested in a day of fishing with Scott aboard the his 26′ Wooldridge Pilot house you can contact him through his website at www.westlakewillows.com
As I mentioned last week we have been expecting a Simrad NSS-8 demo model to display…well its here! And what a unit this is! Simrad hit the nail on the head with this one. The hybrid touch screen and keypad interface makes this unit very easy and quick to use.
We have the unit loaded with a Navionics Platinum+ chart and StructureScan! Come and take a look at this unit for yourself and see what its all about!
If you have seen any of the videos floating around online about the Simrad NSS you’ll certainly want to drop by Radioworld next week to have a look at it in person. We will have a demo NSS-8 on display early in the week and it will be here until mid December.
These units are like a Lowrance HDS on steroids! The NSS has one of the fastest processors on the market when navigating through the menu and using the charting features. The touch screen interface makes this unit exceptionally easy to use when customizing screens, changing pages, and creating routes.
The NSS units can easily network with StructureScan, BR24 3G radar units, SonicHub marine audio server, and any existing HDS units you may have on board.
Whether you’re a bass or walleye fishermen or a serious pleasure boater, the NSS units from Simrad are worth taking a look at. Drop by the store mid next week to see the NSS-8 in action and see what all the hype is about!
For the past 5 years Sheldon Hatch has chosen the Kingston area on Lake Ontario for the August and September walleye run, “I feel (this area) produces the best trophy walleye opportunities in North America. Lake Erie has a great fishery, but Lake Ontario walleye are just straight-up big!”, said Sheldon.
The weather has continued to be fairly stable with only one bad day wind wise. Winds blowing from the SSW in the 30 knot range kept Sheldon off the Bay of Quinte where it opens up to Lake Ontario, “The fish and bait did not move far with the extreme weather and the bite continued to be consistent with a few walleye in the 12 pound range landed last week. The nights are getting colder and the walleye will start to migrate into the Bay of Quinte from the big lake while following the bait fish migration.”
“The past week has continued to produce a solid walleye bite which is a bit slower than August because the water temperatures are starting to drop. As we move into fall you need to find the warm pockets of water where the walleye like to hunt down bait and actively feed. The walleye are mostly attracted right now to large spinners, spoons and crank-baits with white and some flash. A few fish have been taken casting crank-baits but the majority of roaming walleye are being caught while trolling.”
Your guide, Sheldon Hatch specializes in making your walleye guided trip into an on the water educational experience. You will learn some of the hottest trophy fishing techniques he has perfected over the years competing at professional walleye tournaments. Be sure to look up Sheldon on Facebook and Twitter as well.
Joe Pickstock owner/operator of PB & J Charters and Radioworld Pro landed this giant Chinook salmon which weighed in at 30.2lbs while enjoying a day on the water with some friends. Joe is available for hire during the hard and soft water seasons on the Bay of Quinte. If you have an opportunity to fish with Joe you will get to experience some great products available at Radioworld. Even if the fishing is slow you will surely be entertained with the SonicHub audio server he has connected to his Lowrance HDS unit!
In addition to being a charter operator, Joe is also the president of the Quinte Walleye League which is a group of anglers dedicated to promoting and conserving the Walleye Fishery on Quinte. Be sure to keep an eye out for Joe on the upcoming season of Angler and Hunter TV as he had the good fortune of shooting a show with host Cam Brownson on the Bay of Quinte.
At Radioworld, we continue to offer our customers the best selection of products at competitive price and the very best available service possible!
