In the Navionics Boating app the SonarPhone feature allows you to have a fishfinder on your screen and create your own personal HD bathymetry map with SonarCharts Live!
The fishfinder feature enables you to view live sonar and Navionics charts, both full screen and split screen, within the same app from your kayak, runabout, or any fishing boat! Every time you connect, future SonarCharts can be enhanced with depth data from anywhere you go.
Even better, SonarCharts Live allows you to create a new personal HD bathymetry map that displays on your device in real-time while navigating. The new chart appears as an additional layer over either Nautical Charts or SonarCharts. Data is saved for individual use and can be shared with Navionics to improve SonarCharts.
What you need
To enjoy the fishfinder feature, you need the latest version of the Navionics Boating app on your Android or Apple Tablet or Smartphone and the SonarPhone T-BOX hardware which is available for purchase here.
To create maps with SonarCharts Live in the free app version, you need to make sure you purchase a Navionics+ package from Menu > Charts & Upgrades. If you have a paid version, you don’t need anything else.
– Install the SonarPhone T-BOX device on your boat. Turn on the SonarPhone T-BOX.
– From your mobile, connect to the Wi-Fi network: Settings>Wi-Fi ON and select the “T-BOX” Network. When prompted, enter the Wi-Fi password provided to join. See the video.
– Open the Navionics Boating app. The fishfinder display will automatically appear along with SonarCharts Live creating your new personal HD bathymetry map!
With the powerful SP200 T-BOX system, you can reach depths of 240 feet with a 200kHz, Dual-Beam (20/40 degree) skimmer style transducer and temp sensor. The Skimmer style transducer can be mounted externally on the transom of your boat for high speed use or internally in fiberglass hulls, but you will lose the temp sensor option for in-hull installations.
Also included in the SP200 package is a 12 volt car plug/USB adaptor for powering your tablets or re-charging your phones
